Ranchi University is a State teaching-cum-affiliating university in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was established in 1960 and spans over 5 districts of the state. Ranchi University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The governor of the state is the chancellor of the university.
Admission to the university is based on merit and scores in respective qualifying entrance exams. Admission to Ranchi University depending on the course is both merit-based and entrance exam based. For UG admission, candidates should have passed class 12th from a recognized board. University shortlists candidates on the basis of their exam scores. The valid examinations are JEE Mains for Engineering and NEET/UG for medical students.
For PG admission candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their scores in the relevant entrance exams. For MTech GATE scores are accepted, for MBA, CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA scores are valid, for medical student’s NEET/PG scores are accepted.
For Doctoral Programs the procedure includes the university’s own exam followed by an interview. Candidates must have a masters’ degree from a recognized university in a related field.
